Flushing & Mylor Pilot Gig Club pulled off a coup this weekend by holding a charity gig in the Tremayne Hall starring American blues folk guitarist Chris Smither. Fans came from as far afield as Ireland, Wincanton and Camborne to hear this talented singer-songwriter play to a full house. Many fans were stunned to hear, on Radio 2 last Monday, that Chris would be including a gig in Mylor as part of his latest UK tour. 'It is a pleasure to be able to bring such a well-respected musician to our village hall, and all in a good cause. The gig club has been such a success in the community, this was a great way to give something back and help another charity at the same time,' said Lynn Stonehouse, one of the organisers. Profits from the night will be divided between the gig club and Cornwall Rape and Sexual Abuse Centre (CRASAC). The gig club especially thanks the Hall for Cornwall, Mike Griffin from Allen & Heath, Wine in Cornwall and Steve Hutt for all their help in staging such a fantastic event.
