The Book of Mylor
A Cornish Creeekside Village and Harbour

Published by Halsgrove £20

The book was the result of two years work by the Local History Group in collaboration with many local contributors. It is divided into 14 chapters such as Farming, Churches, Famous People and so on. We borrowed many precious photos from the community and some were even transported in person to the publisher in Tiverton. It was necessary to be ruthless when deciding on the material to be used, as we had far more than we needed. In the end, we managed to have a few more pages than originally intended, but even so we must have disappointed some contributors.

The book was launched on 25 October 2004 with great excitement (see Launch of the Book of Mylor) and has proved popular. However, inevitably there are a few mistakes and memories are not always very reliable. We have been pleased with the reception generally and have had a number of surprising and complimentary letters from around the world.

It was an interesting and challenging experience which was very satisfying to complete.
