Come and discover the history of Cornish Art in an eight week course - in depth, visually stunning and fun! All are welcome! Catherine Wallace has taught courses on the history of Newlyn and Lamorna Artists for Adult Education in Cornwall and has been an Arts Society (formally known as NADFAS ) lecturer since 2010. She believes in sharing the in-depth knowledge she has acquired over 20+ years as a curator and writer with like minded enthusiasts. Her course focuses on art history and appreciation of art from a practical and visual point of view. Her lectures aim to inform and entertain. No previous knowledge or experience is required to attend the courses. Each session features Powerpoint slides of paintings and photographs delivered by Catherine but discussion and group input is encouraged. Week Eight of every course is usually held at a local art museum or heritage centre.

There is always time for a tea break on a Cornish Art History Course at Tremayne Hall and in the summer that includes strawberries! (weather dependant!) | Each course ends with a visit to look at some of the works of art which have been discussed on the course. This was the group studying Newlyn and Lamorna Artists 1880 - 1900 who went to Penlee House Gallery and Museum in March 2017. |
